Our recreational curriculum follows the USA Gymnastics Junior Olympic (J.O.) program standards. At TNT, boys and girls in this program safely learn fundamental skills and progressions on traditional gymnastics equipment. Students advance through skill achievement. These programs are intended for boys & girls ages 5 and over.

Keep you ears open for the gong! It means a student has achieved a skill that required a lot of hard work. If a student rings the gong they can, but are not required to, show the entire gym. Everyone cheers when we get a gon ringer!
Red Star/Beginners (55 min) - Girls Ages 5+ - Ratio 8:1
Introduction to basic positions, fundamental skills and terminology. Gymnasts will train forward and backward rotation on each event.
Key Skills: Forward Roll, Backward Roll, Candlestick, Bridge, Handstand, Cartwheel, Static Chin Hold
Average length of time to master skills: 8-10months
White Stars/Advanced Beginner (60 min) - Girls Ages 5+ - Ration 8:1
Continued progressions based on fundamental skill-emphasis on strength, flexibility, & technique. This class is for those students who have passed Red Stars or have been evaluated into this level.
Key Skills: Handstand to Bridge, Bridge Kickover, Run hurdle Cartwheel, Backward Roll to Pike Stand, Split Leap, Pull Over, Glide
Average length of time to master skills: 10-12 months
Blue Stars/Intermediate (60 min) - Girls Ages 6+ - Ratio 8:1
Advanced progressions based on fundamental skill. This class is for those students who have passed White Stars or have been evaluated into this level. A faster pace for students who are ready tolearnmulti-skill tumbling passes and more difficult combinations on all apparatus.
Key Skills: Handstand Forward Roll, Tick tock, Run hurdle Round Off,Front Handspring, Backhandspring, Full Turn, Back Hip Circle, Undershoot
Average length of time to master skills: 12-18 months
Gold Stars/Advanced (75 minutes) - Girls Ages 7+ - Ratio 8:1
Advanced progressions, elements, & skill combinations. This class is for those students who have passed Blue Stars or have been evaluated into this level.
Key Skills: Round-off Backhandspring, Front Handspring (floor), Front Tuck, Round-off Backhandspring Salto, Front hip circle, Kip
Average length of time to master skills: 18-24 months
Dynamites/Beginner Boys (55 min) Boys Ages 5+ - Ratio 7:1
Introduction to basic body position, fundamental skill, and gymnastics terminology. Beginning progressions on men’s equipment.
Key Skills: Headstand, Forward Roll, Backward roll (on wedge), Long Hang Swings (High Bar, Rings), Static Chin Hold, Straddle Travels (Parallel Bars)
Average length of time to master skills: 8-10 months
Blasters/Advanced Beginner Boys (60 min) Boys Ages 6+ - Ratio 8:1
Continued skill progressions and gymnastics terminology on men’s equipment. Emphasis on strength and flexibility.
Key Skills: Handstand, Cartwheel, Round-off, Backhandsprings, L-holds (Rings, Parallel Bars, High bar), Swing to invert, Front Support Swings
Average length of time to master skills: 10-12 months
Tumble & Tramp I & II (60 min) Boys & Girls Ages 6+ - Ratio 8:1
Basic skills and progressions on floor, trampoline, & tumble trak
*Students must be advanced beginner or beyond in order to be eligible for this class.
Cheer (90 min) Boys & Girls Ages 6+ - Ratio 10:1
Jumps, basic tumbling, and group cheer work.
